The Northshore Community
A loose collective of mountain bikers on Massachusetts's Northshore, named after the region's other great tradition. We ride the trails around Cape Ann, the woods of Manchester, Gloucester, and beyond — anywhere there's roots, and rocks… oh did I say rocks?
This isn't a club with membership dues or jerseys. It's a group of people who like to ride, who like to ride together, and who think the Northshore is criminally underrated as an MTB destination. If that's you, you're already part of it.
What we ride: mountain bikes, mostly. New England technical — short, punchy, rooty, rocky. Lines you have to read. The kind of riding that rewards bike handling more than fitness.
Who shows up: riders who've got the basics down and a tolerance for getting rained on. We push each other to progress, but without ego. Humility matters more than skill — ride within your own ability, respect that the people next to you might be more or less experienced than you, and meet everyone where they are. That mix is the point.

After the ride: we hang out at the shop for libations, tech talk, and general goofing around. The ride is the front door — a lot of why people keep coming back is what happens after.

Jody helps lead the Thursday ride, so the shop isn't just where we meet — they're out in the rocks with us.
